The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering plays a prominent role in the real world. The Electrical & Electronics Engineering department has 7 labs and the major labs are Electrical Machines Lab, Power Electronics lab, Power Systems Lab and Control Systems Lab. Electrical Machines Lab is the core of Electrical Engineering and is well equipped with motor-generator sets, transformers, auto-transformers and other electrical measuring equipment. In this lab, students can recap the theoretical concepts of machines and check them practically like voltage build up by the generator or Alternator, transformer operation etc.
Control Systems Lab consists of the compensation circuits, potentiometer trainer kits and Servo motor kits. In this lab, students can understand the behavior of the motor by increasing load, selection of best type of controller for the fast response.
Power systems lab gives hand on training with fully equipped computers on MATLAB software, and performance of transmission line circuit kit. In this lab, students can check the values of inductance and capacitance with change in distance and also its stability by writing the algorithms in MATLAB.
Power Electronics lab is fitted with single phase and three phase rectifier trainer kits, Buck and Boost Converter trainer kits with thyristors and MOSFETS. In this lab the students can know about how electrical power is rectified by triggering the thyristors, MOSFETS and the different triggering methods.
